BAIC JoyTech: First in China! Magic Core Power has obtained the
“Excellent Silent Engine” (3A) certification
At the 2023 certification press conference of “Excellent
Silent Engine” by China Automotive Technology & Research
Center Co., Ltd., BAIC’s Magic Core Power obtained the
“Excellent Silent Engine” (3A) product certification certificate,
becoming one of the first Chinese products while BAIC being
one of the first enterprises to obtain this certification, marking
that the NVH performance of BAIC’s self-developed hybrid
engine has topped in China.
The A-level certification of the “Excellent Silent Engine”
requires that the product reaches the top 10%
within the industry. The actual test results of BAIC’s
Magic Core Power in three aspects all reached
the top 5%, undoubtedly ranking at the top
level of the quietness performance among products in the industry.
It is precisely based on the high requirements for quietness
that BAIC has been continuously promoting new technologies
in the field of quietness for vehicles, which has gained good
reputation and recognition from customers.

Suppressing noise from the source and reducing engine noise
is a key issue that cannot be ignored in NVH-featured noise
elimination project.
Strict NVH performance goals were set at the
beginning of the design for BAIC’s
Magic Core Power.
After repeated polishing
and demonstration,
through vibration/noise
excitation source control,
active vibration reduction/sound
insulation measures, structural optimization,
and key component noise reduction,
the application of 21 key technologies in 4
categories and the control of over 300 key
element points have been achieved,
breaking the record of the lowest engine noise at the same class.
Weakening the noise transmission path
During vehicle running, wind noise, road
noise, etc. will be transmitted to the interior of
the vehicle through the body of the vehicle.
In order to effectively block external noise, BAIC has
put a lot of effort in the materials for the cabin.
Taking X55II as an example, the car body is covered
with 14 soundproofing materials to ensure the sealing
and soundproofing of the car body, minimize noise,
and ensure high-quality travel experience.
Neutralize the noise and sound waves inside the car
The treatment of vehicle noise requires high standards
and also relies on multiple means.
The use of intelligent technology to neutralize interior
noise is an important aspect of BAIC’s NVH noise
elimination project. The technology is currently applied
to the BAIC BJ60, which generates a reverse sound
wave with an amplitude equal to the engine noise through
the ANC active noise reduction system, and cancels out the
noise transmitted by the engine into the car in real time.
Foam sound-absorbing cotton and carpet materials are both applied
to optimize noise reduction, bringing comprehensive silence.
